A&O Shearman Essay Competition

The A&O Shearman Essay Competition is designed to test the basic skills of a lawyer- critical thinking and written expression. The contestants are required to write an essay on a difficult legal issue to help them understand the significant implications of theoretical law in practice.

The main goal of the competition is to give students an opportunity to deal with an unclear topic in a specific legal area, to further examine all its aspects, and give them a platform from which the students can implement and present their ideas to the general legal public by publishing their essays. The project thus creates the opportunity for new and interesting argumentation, and furthermore contributes to the discovery of new talents among law students.

The winners are awarded valuable prizes from the law firm A&O Shearman, including financial rewards up to 20,000 CZK, and a 5-day stay in any destination around the world where A&O Shearman offices are located, such as London, Dubai, Sydney or Shanghai.
