ELSA Brno and group of twelve students from Faculty of Law sallied out to visit Office for the Protection of Competition (OPC) on Monday 20th October 2014. The guides were a spokesperson of OPC Mgr. Martin Švanda and Mgr. Tomáš Kubeša, from Competition section.

In fifteen minutes long opening speech, Mgr. Švanda acquainted students in general and in brief with OPC history and explained them, what its activity is about and what its significance is. Then, he passed the floor to Mgr. Kubeša who demonstrated OPC work on actual cases. Most of all, he initiated the students into forbidden agreements, which he deals with. Due to gripping commentary and usage of cases from practice even people almost untouched by this issue could as well learn lots of interesting and beneficial things. At the end, Mgr. Kubeša willingly answered students´ questions, whether on general topic or the specific ones. The students have learnt not only what OPC´s investigation looks like, but also what the requirements and demands for potential job seekers are.
Both men were indeed very helpful and obliging. When the meeting ended, students left full of new and interesting information and pleasantly surprised with lively presentation of OPC´s employees.
