The Chair for the Guest was autumn´s semester last event of this kind and it took place in Café Gaviota on November 18th. This time, doc. JUDr. Mgr. Martin Škop, Ph.D. from Theory of Law Department had accepted our invitation.

Despite the fact that the event was exceptionally held in Café Gaviota, the attendance was satisfactory. In opening speech, our guest was in brief introduced. Then, students had an opportunity to ask questions, thanks to which we learnt a lot of interesting information about his own studies, passing exams and he admitted that he really can tell what students had used to study for an exam. Moreover, Mr Škop mentioned why he started teaching and that forgetting is really infectious. He was really pleased with a little gift from ELSA – bottle of wine because, as he said, he is a great connoisseur of wine :).

Mr Škop was a very pleasant guest, he spoke really engagingly, and we laughed a lot. In conclusion, the atmosphere was very friendly. Due to his distinctive and gripping expression he is known all over our Faculty and he managed to attract freshman as well as senior students. His presence was a pleasant ending of our “The Chair for the Guest” series.

There was a little innovation for this kind of event – so called evaluation forms which were distributed among participants via Facebook event. We were interested especially in overall satisfaction with the event and suggestions for a next guest. The results showed general enthusiasm for the event and the guest. On the other hand, there was a discontentment with the place where the event was held, most of all because of noise and crumped spaces. Next time, The Chair for the Guest will take place in team study room as we are used to. Most participants learnt about our event on Facebook or heard about it from friends. They would appreciate doc. Židlická, JUDr. Salák, or doc. Pithart as a future guest.
